Administrative Assistant/Shipping Clerk

MicroStrain has an immediate opening for an Administrative Assistant/Shipping Clerk. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and UPS Worldship is important. Major focus of activities will be:

Responsibilities:

Senior Embedded Software Engineer

MicroStrain is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to work with our Inertial Sensors product group. The successful candidate will play a lead role in developing the firmware for our next generation of sensors. He/She will be an innovative, creative thinker with an ability to work in a self-directed manner. The Senior Embedded Software Engineer will be responsible for developing, testing and maintaining firmware for our high performance, low power sensor systems. The scope of responsibility will include the design and development of firmware. In addition, it will include the development of testing, calibration, and validation tools and processes. The role will also present opportunities for significant contributions to the design and configuration of new embedded system hardware. Digital and analog hardware design experience is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop firmware in C for embedded sensor systems
  • Design and develop testing, calibration, and validation tools
  • Develop support tools such as firmware updaters and field debugging aids
Projects typically require:

  • Tightly timed deterministic firmware algorithms
  • Design and implementation of DSP algorithms
  • Knowledge of digital and analog circuits and peripherals
  • Design of data collection and analysis tests and experiments
  • Hands-on prototyping and testing

Education, Experience and Desired Skills:

  • Bachelors degree, preferably in Engineering or Computer Science
  • Minimum of 3 years experience developing embedded firmware
  • Knowledge of PC based programming languages such as Visual C++ and Visual Basic
  • LabVIEW and/or MATLAB programming experience
  • Experience with IAR and/or Microchip development environments
  • Instrumentation and research lab experience
  • Basic electronics soldering and shop skills
  • Independence and self-direction
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate respectfully and effectively
  • Desire to push the limits of technology




Electronics Technician

MicroStrain is seeking an Electronics Technician for our Wireless Sensors Department. Primary duties include supporting all Wireless products - building/testing modules, troubleshooting as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building & testing wireless modules/units
  • Troubleshooting wireless modules using engineering schematics
  • Solder/re-solder PCBs when troubleshooting
Experience and Skill Requirements:

  • 2 year electrical degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with soldering surface mount devices
  • Able to read schematics and understand electrical circuits
  • Experience w/ ERP systems a plus
  • Self-starter, independent worker
  • The ability to be a team player with a positive attitude





Electronics Assembly Technician

MicroStrain is seeking an Electronics Assembly Technician for our Displacement Sensors Department. Primary duties are the manufacture, test, and calibration of displacement sensors.

Responsibilities:

  • Building & testing displacement sensors
  • Soldering fine magnet wire under a microscope
  • Working with epoxies

Education and Experience:

  • 2 year electrical/mechanical degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with soldering fine gauge wire and surface mount devices
  • Basic computer operation
  • Self-starter, independent worker
  • The ability to be a team player with a positive attitude
