MicroStrain® Wins Seventh Gold Award at Sensors Expo

Chicago, IL, June 8, 2005
The editors of Sensors, which has led the industry for more than twenty-one years, presented gold, silver, and bronze
awards to 11 Sensors Expo exhibitors in four categories: Sensors, Sensor Components, Networking and Communications, and
Data Acquisition. Exhibitors submitted new product nominations and the entries were judged on the basis of whether the
product has potential to change the way people work, whether it serves a real need, and whether it is highly distinct
from other product offerings.
"The Best of Sensors Expo Awards recognize products we feel will have the greatest and broadest impact," said Barbara
Goode, Editor-in-Chief of Sensors magazine. "With the quality and strength of submissions, selecting the winners was a
very difficult task. The expo is a magnificent display of innovation and ingenuity- even products that did not win will
likely have substantial impact in their specific areas."
Microstrain's Inertia-Link® (patent pending) combines three orthogonal gyroscopes, three orthogonal accelerometers, an
embedded processor, data logger and RF receiver. Using complex algorithms, the device can sense angular position, and
estimate transient linear displacements, making it ideally suited to applications such as platform stabilization,
unmanned vehicle navigation, biomechanics, wearable inertial sensing, borehole surveying, attitude sensing and athletic
performance enhancement. Inertia-Link® also supports wireless 802.15.4, USB, RS-232/RS-485 and CAN bus communications.
