LORD INTRODUCES LXRS+ WIRELESS PROTOCOL – WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKS JUST BECAME A WHOLE LOT FASTER

(Cary, NC – August 2, 2017)LORD Corporation, a global leader in developing wireless and embedded sensing systems, introduces the LXRS®+ wireless networking protocol featuring a bandwidth of 16,000 samples per second per channel, with an aggregate system bandwidth of 256,000 samples per second over 16 channels.

“LORD Corporation’s wireless network offers wireless simplicity with the reliability of hardwired data acquisition system,” says Mike Robinson, International Sales Manager, LORD Corporation. “This means that our wireless systems offer quick and simple installation, eliminates the cost of cable and the labor to install cable and enables data to be obtained from rotating and moving machinery, while maintaining the important features of hardwired systems, network synchronization of 50 microseconds, lossless data protocol and a scalable network with an aggregate bandwidth of 256,000 samples per second. LORD has broken down the barriers to replacing hardwired systems with wireless systems.”

The wireless sensor nodes that operate using LXRS+ protocol are designed to operate at incredibly low-power, which enables battery powered networks to operate for extended periods of time and makes the use of energy harvesting systems a viable option for permanent installations.

“LXRS+ was built to enable customers to gather data from many different wireless sensor nodes simultaneously, synchronously, and without losing data,” says Stephen DiStasi, Staff Engineer, LORD Corporation. “It was created specifically for applications such as flight test and heavy machine condition monitoring, which require large amounts of raw sensor data, synchronization between nodes, and no lost data – allowing four times more data over wireless channels for maximizing network data throughput.”

The WSDA®-200-USB, a small, low-cost wireless gateway, enables customers to use the LXRS+ protocol. This gateway collects synchronized data from scalable networks of wireless sensor nodes and provides seamless communication between the wireless sensor nodes and host computer. LXRS+ protocol is available with the WSDA-200-USB gateway and the G-Link®-200 or V-Link®-200 wireless sensor nodes. The WSDA-200-USB is also compatible with the legacy LXRS protocol which is compatible with all legacy LORD wireless sensor nodes.

“The WSDA-200-USB is easily integrated in to customers OEM systems by using our open-source, comprehensive communications and command library (API),” says Justin Bessette, Manager, Wireless Systems and Software Engineering, LORD Corporation. “Data visualization through our web-based proprietary SensorCloud portal enables quick data navigation and analysis, allowing thousands of sensors to be managed from a single gateway.”

LORD Sensing wireless sensor networks simultaneous, high-speed sensing and data aggregation from large scale sensor networks, makes them the ideal choice for structural health monitoring, condition monitoring of machinery, equipment performance validation and verification, evaluation and diagnostics, test and measurement, system control, and environmental monitoring.
