We are proud to announce the launch of the next in our line of innovative GX5 inertial sensors—the 3DM-GX5-25 AHRS sensor!

The latest generation of this award-winning inertial sensor is the best in its class for measuring attitude (pitch, roll and yaw) and heading in a variety of applications including platform stabilization, unmanned vehicle navigation, and health/usage monitoring.

Key upgrades from the prior GX4 line include improved performance through in-situ heading calibration. Automatic magnetometer calibration and anomaly rejection eliminate the need for field calibration. The sensor is fully calibrated, temperature-compensated, and mathematically-aligned to an orthogonal coordinate system for highly accurate outputs.

The GX5-25 features an extremely stable and lownoise gyro, triaxial accelerometer, magnetometer, and temperature sensors to achieve the optimal combination of measurement qualities. The accelerometer boasts noise densities as low as 25μg/√Hz, and the dual Cortex processors run a new AutoAdaptive Extended Kalman Filter. The Kalman Filter has been proven to provide outstanding attitude accuracy, with almost negligible roll error during turns and other sudden course shifts.

In addition, the GX5-25’s footprint is the same as its predecessor at approximately 36 mm x 36 mm x 11 mm. and it weighs less than 17 grams—making it not only the smallest, lightest, and highest-performing inertial sensor in its class but also drop-in capable for existing customers.

The GX5-25 AHRS inertial sensor is available for purchase now. Click here for more information, or email sensing_sales@lord.com.
