Tactical-Grade Inertial Sensors for GNSS/GPS-Aided Navigation

LORD Sensing's 3DM-RQ1-45 GPS/INS is a ruggedized, tactical-grade inertial sensor for a variety of applications, including highly accurate navigation of manned and unmanned vehicles and for precise camera/antenna pointing. Its durable aluminum enclosure is proven to meet DO-160G for deployment in harsh environments, and the sensor is fully calibrated, temperature compensated, and mathematically aligned to an orthogonal coordinate system for highly accurate outputs, with better than 5°/hour gyro bias instability.

The 3DM-GQ4-45 offers the same high accuracy at a lower price point, for applications not requiring a ruggedized enclosure. The multi-constellation GNSS receiver (GPS/QZSS, GLONASS, BeiDou) enables improved position outputs.

Like the RQ1, the GQ4 is fully-calibrated and temperature compensated. Both sensors feature dual onboard processors running a sophisticated Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) for excellent position, velocity, and attitude estimates. They are compact and lightweight with a low profile for simple installation into your application, and they each include software, drivers, and iron calibration tools for immediate deployment.

LORD Sensing-MicroStrain Earns AS9100C Certification

LORD Sensing-MicroStrain recently received AS9100C Quality Systems Certification from SAI Global. This will complement our current certification to ISO9001:2008. AS9100 is similar to ISO9001 Quality System Standard but is tailored to the Aerospace industry. The requirements in AS9100 add additional requirements including: 

  • Planning for product realization. This planning activity includes additional requirements for project management, risk management, configuration management of the products, and control of work transfers
  • Additional focus on Verification of product design and Validation of the end use when available.  
  • More emphasis on material traceability through the entire supply chain
  • Process Risk Management. More focus on measuring, monitoring and improving the risk of processes involved with delivering quality product on time.

With our AS9100C certification, LORD Sensing-MicroStrain joins LORD Sensing-Stellar Technology, who has also achieved this prestigious industry standard. more
